Just over a month ago, a good friend of mine Ally broke a really sad news to me. Another friend of ours, Jan will be leaving Singapore on a 3 years work stint in China. How sad can that be? I immediately called her and asked her all the why, where, when and what questions. I guess at that point of time I was overcome with shock and surprise that our dear friend is leaving us behind. Ally and I have been good friends for more than 14 years and when I got to know Jan 8 years ago, we were classmates during our undergraduate studies. Thereafter, Ally joined us, they were introduced to each other by me and that was when our friendship bloomed. We’ve always been in touch regularly over the years, meeting up almost every month. Sometimes we were busy with work and family life we don’t see each other for months at times but we were always in touch til this day. We’ve been there for each other through good and bad times. And now with her leaving, a part of us is missing. Well, she’s definitely coming back for visits a couple of times a year but we will miss our monthly all-girls get together. Nevertheless, we wished her all the best in her new endeavour and hope one day we could all visit her in China.
So, about a couple of weeks ago before she left, we decided to have a photo session with a few more friends whom we always hang out with. We wanted her to have these photos with her so whenever she misses home or us, these photos will remind her of us and hope she’ll keep us close to her heart. And this goes the same to us. We did have a GREAT time! And with the help of a tripod, I managed to have group photos taken with me in them as well! *laugh* I would’t want to miss it for anything. And the photos turned up really good. What I mean is the photos did capture the moment of us as good friends, the special bond we share for years.
Here are some of my favorites.
We’re missing you tons Jan and we’ll always be here when you return.![]()
